Hemp-Based Beauty:
Andalou Naturals CannaCell Line

I talk a lot about my love for natural skincare, and while it seems like everyone and their mamma is creating a natural skincare line it can be difficult to find the right brand and products that work for your skin type. I shared with you guys one of my favourite natural skincare brands, Andalou Naturals, in this post, this post and this post, raving about the results I get from their products. While some of their lines work better than others on my skin I always seem to notice a positive improvement in the overall appearance of my complexion after using any of their products for just a couple weeks. Of my family and friends who use this line, I’ve only ever heard positive feedback.

With the legalization of cannabis just around the corner in Canada, we’re seeing more and more brands turn to cannabinoids and hemp oil in their products. With proven benefits and a growing acceptance, hemp-based beauty may be the new “it” skincare ingredient that you might actually want to be addicted to. I decided to try Andalou’s new CannaCell line made with hemp stem cells, and I was blown away by the results. I’ve been using this line for the last 5 – 6 weeks and it’s done wonders for my complexion. Not only is my skin more radiant and glowing, but it looks and feels healthier. The tired, rundown look (not proud of this) as been replaced with noticeably brighter, firmer skin.

Before I dive into the details on the products I’m using from this line, I do want to point out that they do not contain any cannabinoid molecules, including THC and CBD. So what exactly is CannaCell? It’s superpowered cannabis sativa antioxidants that are cultivated from hemp stem cells. The cannabis stem cell culture is grown in Northern Italy and is carefully extracted into lecithin liposomes which helps to maintain ingredient stability and maximize efficiency for optimal results. You can rest assured that the ingredients in all CannaCell products are vegan, and free of THC, gluten, phthalates, sulfates, silicones and parabens.

Now, for my evening routine. I begin by using the Cleansing Foam, which comes in an easy-to-use pump format. Simply apply to damp skin, massage and rinse. I follow this up with the Pressed Serum which literally melts into my skin. A small amount of this serum goes a long way so don’t be fooled by the size of the bottle. The last step in my evening routine is using the Dreamy Night Cream overtop of the serum which leaves my skin hydrated and smooth. All products use the finest ingredients  made with CannaCell hemp stem cells, organic hemp seed oil and pure plant essential oils.

I have a small sample of the X.Foliate Scrub which I’ve used a few times before the D.Tox Mask, and love how the beads are gentle are on skin. I can’t stand exfoliants that feel like they’re ripping my skin apart. Gentle and effective is the way to my heart. Face masks are part of my weekly skincare routine, and I’m religious about using them 2 – 3 times per week. I’ve started incorporating the D.Tox mask into my mix and I find that it enhances the benefits of the products I’m already using while giving me more hydration and plumpness. I’ve used this mask on both dry and damp skin (no difference in the results), and leave it on for around 20 – 25 minutes. Unless I’m using a mud mask, I always tend to leave my masks on slightly longer than the directions call for.

If you’re looking to try out the line but aren’t ready to invest in the full sized products, I recommend checking out Andalou’s Botanical Skin Care Get Started Kit.

xo, Kiki
