Clarins Skin Boosters Review

Late night out? Jetlag? Recovering from a weekend-long Netflix binge? After 10 years in the making, Clarins has opened the gates of heaven and bestowed upon us three amazing skin savers; their highly anticipated boosters! You may recall my love for these boosters in this post, where I shared my fully customized Spa My Blend facial at The Ritz Carleton Toronto.

What I love most about these concentrated boosters is that they target specific needs, so they aren’t meant to be used every day. The bottles are compact making them easy to travel with, the packaging is fresh and bold and the results are instant.

STEP 1 – Find the best booster(s) for your needs (see below for help).

STEP 2 – Add 3 – 5 drops of the booster to your face cream (remember, these are concentrated formulas so they aren’t meant to be applied alone), rub mixture together, and apply to your face and neck. While 3 – 5 drops is the recommended amount, I find that 2-3 drops do the trick for me.

Wondering which boosters are best for you? Here is a breakdown of the benefits of each booster:

DETOX BOOSTER

Ideal for overstressed skin caused by:

  • Partying
  • Overindulging
  • Smoky environments
  • Extreme pollution

This is hands-down my favourite booster of the three, as I saw the most noticeable change with it. I decided to try it out after a weekend of partying and eating like crap, and it not only made my skin look more plump but it added a beautiful, healthy glow, which doesn’t exactly go hand-in-hand with a cheat weekend. If you’re looking to hide the signs of a little too much partying, this is the product for you!

Main Ingredient: Green Coffee. Rich in caffeine, the green coffee extract is known for it’s ability to detoxify the skin, leaving you with a fresh, radiance complexion.

ENERGY BOOSTER

Ideal for tired skin caused by:

  • Jetlag
  • All-nighters
  • Busy moms
  • Dieting

I’m sure most of you can relate to having one of those nights, where no matter how much chamomile tea you drink and how many books you try reading, you just can’t sleep. You wake up (if you’re lucky enough to get any shut eye) looking and feeling like a zombie! Lucky me had one of those nights just last week, and of course it was before an early morning meeting. My skin looked tired and dull, so I decided to try the Energy Booster. I was surprised with the warm glow I got from this booster, and while I didn’t exactly look like I had a fabulous 9-hour sleep, I did notice a slight difference in my skin. I’ve used this booster a few more times since, and although the results aren’t as noticeable as the Detox booster, it’s a great pick-me-up for tired skin.

Main Ingredient: Ginseng. Known for it’s anti-aging benefits and ability to boost skin-firming collagen, ginseng is great for the skin because it’s packed with vitamins and has an anti-inflammatory effect.

REPAIR BOOSTER

Ideal for weakened skin caused by:

  • Sunburn
  • Extreme climates
  • Hard, salt or chlorinated water
  • Minor cosmetic treatments

This booster doesn’t apply to my lifestyle at the moment as I haven’t been exposing my skin to the sun or harsh waters, but I decided to test it out anyways. I did notice that some areas of redness were reduced, but I’m excited to give this booster a fair shot next time I’m traveling somewhere hot.

Main Ingredient: Mimosa Tenuiflora. This Mayan bark extract is referred to as the “skin tree” for it’s soothing and regenerating properties.

Hi Holly – I’m glad you and your mom enjoyed Spa My Blend ..it’s great there, isn’t it. The Energy booster sounds like it would be a good fit, but if she doesn’t notice a difference she may want to try the Detox one.

I tried the Energy Booster and really liked it. I’ll have to try the detox one that you like a lot.
