5 Ways to Make Your Home
Feel Like Spring

April 18, 2021

As soon as April rolls around and we experience our first burst of warmth my mind instantly shifts to welcoming longer days, enjoyable temperatures and preparing my home for a mini spring makeover. Last month I teamed up with my friends at Wayfair to bring you guys The Spring Edit, and now that our spring cleaning is out of the way I’m excited to share with you ways to make your home feel like spring. From citrus to florals and everything in between, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite Wayfair items to usher in the new season.

Pampas Grass

You’ve likely seen pampas grass pop up your feed once, twice or possibly a hundred times, and there’s a reason for it. This tall, neutral, feathery plant works well with different decor styles and offers up a combination of texture, height and softness creating the perfect piece for any home. I love this option from Wayfair as well as this one. You can also create your own pampas grass arrangement by adding several of these to your favourite vase.

Florals

While florals in spring may be less than groundbreaking they are undeniably the sign of a fresh new season. Introducing florals after a dreary winter is one of the best ways to inject some serious spring vibes in your space, and they don’t always have to take the form of an arrangement (although I do love this one, this one and this one).

I enjoy adding floral artwork to my walls and my bookshelves, and right now I am in love with this wall set, this duo and this set. I also love accenting with floral rugs such as this one and this one.

Blanket Swap

I love blankets! It doesn’t matter what time of the year it is, if I’m cuddled up on the couch or sitting outside on my patio you will always find me with a blanket. Every April I tuck away our thick, winter blankets and replace them with lighter throws like this one. I always gravitate towards a softer colour palette in spring/summer months and can’t resist the colour of this blanket or the pattern on this one.

Citrus Centerpiece

Lemmies and clemmies and mandarins, oh my! It’s not just you, citrus is the new black and it’s time to add a freshly squeezed burst of it to your space. This stunning lemon arrangement gives me major Amalfi Coast vibes and looks great as a table centerpiece or on a kitchen island. This painting reminds me of something my grandma had (I love the vintage feel), as do these placemats. Obsessed! If you’re looking to spruce up your front door, this bountiful lemon wreath adds the perfect touch of spring.

Pop of Colour

Whether you prefer a pastel palette or like to get adventurous with colour, what better way to make your home feel more like spring then by adding a pop of your favourite hue? This can be done through subtle pieces like picture frames and decorative items (I love this vase, this floral wall art set and these pillows) .
