Fall Trends 2019

With fall around the corner I’ve rounded up the top trends of the seasons. From classic capes to the hottest new neckline around, here’s a list of the most popular trends to hit the runway.

Cape Town

Get ready to channel your inner superhero because capes are all the craze this fall. From Céline to Gucci to Burberry, designers didn’t skip a beat with creating fun, elegant, fashion-forward capes …and who doesn’t love how flattering this trend is! If you’re looking to add a twist to your jacket game but don’t want to break the bank there are tons of beautiful cape options from one of my favourite online shopping destinations, Shein. I love this Double Breasted Tweed Cape Coat from Shein (also available in grey) because it adds a level of sophistication to any outfit. You can create a more playful look by pairing with a conductor hat or even a beret. Don’t forget you get an additional 10% off your entire Shein purchase over $80 with discount code 3kiki10.

Neon Signs

Saint Laurent. Balenciaga. Versace. These are just some of the many designers showcasing bold, neon collections. If you prefer softer tones likes myself the best way to subtly embrace this trend is to make like Victoria Beckham and highlight through accessories. Think shoes, neon belts, jewelry. The one and only VB features these not-so-subtle solar yellow shoes in her VBxReebok collection, and has also been seen showing off equally as bright neon pumps.

Plaid & Simple

Keep your eyes peeled for loads of checks and plaids showing in the form of blazers, sweaters, vests, and yes you guessed it …capes. I knocked out two fashion-forward trends with this Double Button Plaid Cape Coat from Shein which is also an additional 10% off with discount code 3kiki10 (orders over $80).. The button detailing and sharp red at me at first sight, I don’t know if it’s the Canadian in me but every fall I can’t help but hang a few plaid staples in my closest that proudly become part of my weekly uniform; this is undoubtedly one of them.

My Bead Hoop Earrings featured below are from Hudson’s Bay and are currently on sale for only $9.99. My sunglasses chain is from Cinno Chains and is one of my favourite (and most practical) accessories at the moment.

The Cold Shoulder

The asymmetrical neckline is the next big thing. There’s no hiding how much I adore bardot style tops and dresses. I’ve always found the silhouette to be extremely flattering and since having Evan I love this style even more because it’s perfect for nursing. If you’re not quite ready to rock an off-the-shoulder style I recommend starting small with an asymmetrical neckline. I, as always, decided to go big with this Ruffle Trim Bodysuit which is 10% off with discount code 3kiki10 (orders over $80). It’s such a statement look and can be worn with jeans for a casual vibe, black or white pants for something a little more chic, or a long black skirt for a formal look. The fact that it’s a bodysuit means it will stay perfectly in place creating a clean, sleek look.

The Prepster

Blazers are a wardrobe staple and this fall things are taking a twist in the form of cinched waists and leather. I love putting a casual spin on my blazers, rocking them with jeans and a basic tee. Also popular for 2019 are power suits, and while they aren’t for everyone I love the uniformity of them.

Teeny Tiny Bags

Itsy bitsy teenie weenie bags are making a big statement. I’ve never been a fan of such small bags because they generally can’t even fit my phone but now that my always-handy diaper bag houses the majority of my belongings I can rock bite sized bags for style. Practicality is so overrated. One of my favourite small, but not too small, bags is this one I picked up from Scuola del Cuoio in Florence.

Happy shopping lovies!

xo, Kiki

I’ve been wanting to try shein for a while. I keep seeing it in your posts and I think I’m finally going to check it out. I love that tweed coat.
