During my days as a beauty editor, natural and organic products were starting to pop up more and more on the shelves of grocery, drug and beauty stores, as well as online. While natural and organic products and remedies have been around for centuries, only recently have they started becoming so mainstream. From Cargo Cosmetics PlantLove line to Origins range of plant-based skincare, there’s no denying the splash these products have made on the wonderful world of beauty.

I’ll be the first to admit that my skincare and cosmetic line-up is not exclusively natural/organic (I’m not quite ready to part ways with my Make Up Forever foundation and Chanel lipsticks), but I try to incorporate as many organic products into my beauty regimen as I can. There’s something reassuring about being able to read and understand the list of ingredients that I am putting in my body. This summer I’ve been experimenting with some skincare items from Zorah; an amazing Canadian company that produces organic, eco-friendly and fair-trade products. I’ve fallen in love with Zorah over the past few months, and I’m excited to share with you guys some of my favourite products!

Dark Circles & Puffy Eyes

The Zorah Ora Eye Cream is a great lightweight formula that I apply in the morning and evening to reduce fine lines, and to help prevent/ remove puffiness and dark circles from under my eyes. Need to erase signs of a late night? A single pump of this product helps tone down puffiness, so needless to say it has quickly become one of my go-to products. I just dab the cream gently under each eye, and sometimes around the corners of my mouth.

Sun Damage

I spend a lot of time in the sun, and even with using sunscreen I tend to burn if I’m in the heat for too long. The Zorah Hani After-Sun Treatment is my favourite after-sun product for use at-home and on vacation.  Not only does it instantly sooth sunburnt skin, it doesn’t leave behind an oily residue (woot!). Here are just a few more reasons why I love this product:

  • It contains a blend of organic argan, chia and kendi oils
  • Perfect, lightweight texture and not oily
  • High concentration of vitamin E and anti-oxidants
  • High concentration of Omgea 3, 6 & 9
  • Reduces redness and sun damage
  • You can apply to face and body

Deep Clean & Nourish

Right now my skin is normal (not too oily and not too dry), so I’m focusing on products that nourish and protect. I have a handful of face masks I rotate through, depending on the problem area I’m looking to target. While Glam Glow is great for tightening and brightening, the Zorah NYXE High Efficiency Cream Mask stabilizes sebaceous gland activity while reducing redness, fighting fine lines and providing a thorough clean. I use this mask 1 – 2 times a week, and find it works great after a long night because it instantly reduces redness. Directions: Massage a generous portion of the face cream into your skin, leave on for 10 – 15 minutes (I like to leave mine on for around 20 – 25 minutes), and remove access product with a damp towel. If you have oily skin, use a thin layer of the cream mask.
