It’s been a busy week filled with holiday parties, the grand opening of Caudalie’s first Toronto spa boutique and of course the MLSE Players Gala! Held on the floor of the Mattamy Athletic Centre (or as some of us still refer to it as, Maple Leaf Gardens), I had an absolute blast mingling with the MLSE team, and members of the Toronto Raptors, Toronto Maple Leafs at Toronto FC. The net proceeds from the gala benefit the MLSE LaunchPad, which is a new Sport and Development facility opening in 2017.

I was debating over what to wear and eventually landed on this beautiful Eliza J floral print ball gown skirt. To tone down the look, I paired it with a simple black t-shirt and minimal jewelry including these Kate Spade earrings, H&M cuff bracelet and rings, and my Michael Kors watch.

The evening kicked off with a beautiful cocktail reception, where I had the chance to chat with some of the players, coaches and GM’s, whom I must say were all super friendly and personable. This was followed with a seated dinner where our player-of-the-table was none other than Toronto Maple Leaf Shawn Matthias who brought along his lovely girlfriend Sarah Elmer.

The hosts for the night were Evanka Osmak and Ken Reid from Sportsnet, who as expected did an amazing job capturing the crowd, interviewing players and coaches, and giving guests an inside peak into some of the best personalities in Toronto sports. One of my favourite moments from the night was when a few members of the Raptors took to the stage for some offbeat karaoke …step aside Adele (ya right!).
