Fall Denim Guide (Part 1) – The Flare
Plaid & Simple

This season, nothing says casual-chic quite like a pair of flared jeans. Over the next couple posts I’m going to share with you all some of my favourite denim pieces for fall 2015, starting with these mid rise slim flare jeans from Express.

Flared jeans are making a major comeback this year, showing up on the runways of Gucci, Tom Ford and Tommy Hilfiger to name a few. Spring was big on flare with the revival of ’70s style, and it isn’t going away just yet. From cropped flares to full leg lengtheners, this style pairs perfectly with a button-up shirt, cozy sweater, or a fun long sleeve tee and vest combo. With the right touch of sophistication you can effortlessly transition these bottoms from the office to dinner to weekend brunch.

Along with a fresh selection of flared jeans, plaid has been popping up everywhere from the runway to the streets. You can catch the likes of Olivia Palermo, Jessica Alba and Lauren Conrad rocking the plaid print pretty hard this season, whether it’s in the form of a boy shirt or blazer. One of my favourite pieces for fall is the J Crew boy shirt, available in a range of colours. This style shirt looks great not only with flared jeans, but with virtually any pair of jeans in your closest. You can’t go wrong with this classic combination, and if you’re looking to add a little something more to your outfit try laying with a vest.
